THIRD ORDER OF ST. FRANCIS
SECULAR FRANCISCANS
Solanus Casey Fraternity

Lay Franciscans are a community of men and women in the world who seek to pattern their lives after Christ in the spirit of St. Francis. They believe that as human beings and Christians they have such a sublime vocation that they cannot fulfill it alone; in their common response to the Gospel, they work together in community toward a deeper evangelical life and toward communion with all men.

Last September 23, 2007, the Solanus Casey Fraternity of the Secular Order of St. Francis was canonically established; meaning, we have been officially recognized by the Holy See and Bishop Richard Lennon of the Cleveland Diocese.

Our fraternity consists of lay people, six parishioners of St. Stephen, four from St. Mary's in Wooster, and one candidate in formation from the St. Paul Shrine in Cleveland. We have consecrated our lives in a special way to God through the life and work of St. Francis of Assisi.

Brother Walter Robb O.F.M., C.A.P., from the St. Paul Shrine in Cleveland, is our spiritual assistant since 2005. He attends our monthly gatherings where he promotes and lives the life of St. Francis.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month here at St. Stephen's at 7 pm.

Do you have a calling to the spirituality of St. Francis?
